John Tay - [Alternate] Flying Battery Act 1 (YM2612 + SN76489)

I had the idea and needed to get the idea out my head, and here's what I got with the few days of brainstorming I had.

A few days ago on Twitter, I proposed the idea of a Sonic & Knuckles Alternate soundtrack following my recent whack at (majorly) Leila Wilson [Woofle]'s Sonic 3 Alternate soundtrack. It gave me inspiration to at least make some creative (and somewhat) original works for once in a while. I don't really expect to get too far with this idea, but I intend to write for (almost?) every single original track for S&K. I got ideas here and there, but I did mention in that same Twitter thread that "I most likely would have to collab if I were to let this happen", so expect someone else taking the wheel every now and then for this project.

It actually is one hell of an exercise to try and rewrite history in a way by writing an unofficial alternate soundtrack for half of a game that almost all classic Sonic fans absolutely adore. Doubts would definitely be raised every now and then, but I don't really mind that stress. My idea of an alternate soundtrack specifically for a classic Sonic title would either be to carry the original energy of what the original song had and do something with it, or let my brain run wild with what to do, so occasionally these tracks would be a bit of a surprise to hear. Having the music pair up with the visuals isn't particularly a concern since I'm only really studying the music on its own, but I'll try my best to make that desirable? Yeah.
