বাংলার রবিনহুড ছিল রঘু ডাকাত। ধনীর ধনসম্পদ লুঠ করে তার একটা অংশ নাকি তিনি বিলিবণ্টন করতেন গরিব মানুষের মধ্যে। রঘু ডাকাত নিয়ে প্রচুর কাহিনি চালু আছে বাংলার গ্রামগঞ্জে, শহরের আনাচকানাচে।
অধিকাংশ গবেষকের তথ্যমতে, রঘু ডাকাত জন্মেছিলেন প্রায় দু’শো বছর আগে। অর্থাৎ, অষ্টাদশ শতাব্দীর কোনো একসময়, তবে সাল-তারিখের হিসাব নেই। তার আসল নাম রঘু ঘোষ।
যতদূর জানা যায়, রঘু ডাকাতের বাবাও ছিলেন এমনই একজন নীল চাষে প্রতিবাদী এক অত্যন্ত সাধারণ কৃষক। ইংরেজের লোকজন এসে তাকে তুলে নিয়ে যায় একদিন। নীলকুঠিতে চলে তাঁর ওপর অকথ্য অমানবিক অত্যাচার। রঘুর বাবা নীলকর সাহেবদের অত্যাচার সহ্য করতে না-পেরে মারা যান।
রঘু রুখে দাঁড়াল নীলকর সাহেবদের অত্যাচারের বিরুদ্ধে। এরপর শুরু হয় ব্রিটিশদের তোষণকারী ধনী লোকদের সম্পদ লুট। এসব লুটের মাল তিনি বিলিয়ে দেন গরিব-দুঃখী কৃষকদের মাঝে।
একবার সাধক রামপ্রসাদ নিজেই পড়েছিলেন রঘু ডাকাতের খপ্পরে৷ রুপোলি পর্দাতে তার জীবন ফুটিয়ে তুলতে উদ্যোগী আজকের জনপ্রিয় নায়ক দেব। আজকের পর্ব রঘু ডাকাতের গল্প নিয়ে।

Bengal's Robin Hood was Raghu Dakat. He would loot the wealth of the rich and distribute a part of it among the poor. There are many stories about Raghu Dakat in the villages and in the streets of Bengal.
According to most researchers, Raghu Dakat was born about two hundred years ago. That is, sometime in the eighteenth century, but there is no account of the year and date. His real name was Raghu Ghosh.
As far as is known, Raghu Dakat's father was also a very ordinary farmer who protested against indigo cultivation. One day, the English people came and took him away. He was subjected to unspeakable inhuman torture in the indigo hut. Raghu's father, unable to bear the torture of the indigo farmers, died.
Raghu stood up against the torture of the indigo farmers. Then the looting of the wealth of the rich people who were pleasing the British began. He distributed all these looted goods among the poor and suffering farmers.
Once, the saint Ramprasad himself fell into the clutches of Raghu Dakat. Today's popular hero Dev is eager to portray his life on the silver screen. Today's episode is about the story of Raghu Dakat.
