These are the country flags of every country in Asia..

In political geography, the word country does not only mean a sovereign UN member state. Counties can also refer to other political entities such as states with limited recognition, constituent countries, autonomous regions, and dependent territories. Most sovereign states, but not all countries, are members of the United Nations.

This video therefore, uses the definition of country and includes:
• Sovereign states
• States with limited recognition
• Dependent territories and special administrative regions
• Autonomous regions and republics that are constitutionally defined as distinct political entities

Please note that the definition of country often overlaps and is confused with (sovereign) state.

❌ Exclusions
• Regular provinces, states, districts, and non-special administrative divisions, even if they have unofficial flags
• Capitals and cities (Delhi, Jakarta, federal districts, etc).
Hong Kong and Macau are included because their autonomy is substantially different in scope
• Condominiums and border exclaves
• Ethnic group flags, unless the flag is officially assigned to a specific territory as its regional or dependency flag
• Exclaves or islands without special political autonomy (for example: Bali). These are excluded to keep the criteria consistent
• Micronations without recognition
• Self-declared groups and fluid conflict control zones where borders change frequently
• Variant flags: one flag per entity unless multiple official state or civil flags exist

🧭 Duplicates and special cases
• Only one government flag per entity is accepted
• Governments-in-exile are excluded unless recognized by at least one UN member state
• Afghanistan is shown with two flags to reflect the difference between de facto control and international diplomatic recognition, which remains limited and disputed as of 2026.
• Abkhazia appears twice because the same name is used by two different entities with different flags (an autonomous entity and a de facto state)
