After being repeatedly blocked in lower courts (at least preliminarily) the Trump Administration filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court today. This appeal is asking the justices to lift the temporary blocks from the lower courts so the administration can implement the president’s order to end birthright citizenship for babies born to non-citizen parents now, while the cases continue to play out in lower court. This video explains what the long game is for the Trump Administration and explains how the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution may stop him in his tracks.
