It's been awhile since I watched Wolf's Rain, but I still have lots of feelings for it and keep wanting to do this melody justice. This surely won't be the last attempt, but for now, here's a combination of the first and last times you hear it in the series. Not only did Toboe get the sole character theme, but he got (I believe) the only one that transforms over the course of the show.
Live instruments are flute, oboe, English horn. Forgive my mediocre flute playing, but I think it still somehow suits the tone of the OST. :)
