Bill finally realizes all of the pain and torture Henry has been going through in his life, which explains why he was the meanest bully in all of Derry.

Henry begins to push Bill's kindness away after he approached him asking if he was okay. This led to a fight between the two boys after Henry made a rude comment to Bill about his stuttering. Bill unfortunately lost after throwing the first hit.

The next day, Henry comes home and sees Bill in his house and stare at each other in shock, the boys were forced to live together by choice from Oscar Bowers (Henry's dad). As a member in the Bowers household, Bill walks in on Henry crying and applying antibiotics on his bruises and cuts made from his father. Once Henry sees him, once again he decides to push Bill away and calls him "faggot" for staring at his body.

More days pass on and Bill witnesses more and more, coming to a better understanding of why Henry acts the way he does. And even a realization that his father is the reason behind this. Bill even sees with his own two eyes Henry getting beaten with a belt from his father, later on listening to his cries coming from his room.
And all Bill hopes is for Henry to one day open up to him about his pain.
