It carries the driver, crew, and up to eight infantry troops, providing protected mobility in hostile environments.
Inducted between 2021–2022, an estimated ~300 vehicles are in service, primarily deployed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tribal districts and Balochistan for border security, surveillance, and quick-reaction operations. Islamabad Files also look into the Mengshi's latest technological coonetiom especially when it offers ballistic, mine, and IED protection, supports RCWS, night-vision, and satellite communications, and operates effectively in mountainous, rugged, desert, and urban terrain.
Islamabad Files explains the development of this classic vehicle by China’s Dongfeng Motor Group, the vehicle weighs ~10 tons, carries a 2-ton payload, reaches 120 km/h, and can be armed with machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, or anti-tank missiles, making it a key in Counter-Terror operations and a handy tool in w@rfare, a great asset for the Pakistan Army.
