​What Exactly is Spondylosis?
Spondylosis is a general term for spinal osteoarthritis—the degeneration of the spinal column. It is a normal part of the aging process.
​The Main Cause is Aging: By the age of 40, most people have some degree of disk dehydration and shrinking. Over 85% of people over the age of 60 are affected by cervical (neck) spondylosis, though most experience no symptoms at all.
​A Degenerative, Not Inflammatory, Condition: Spondylosis is primarily degenerative (wear and tear), which is distinct from spondylitis (like Ankylosing Spondylitis), which is an inflammatory form of arthritis.
