Lido Key Beach Dredging Shells. What we found when we traveled to Sarasota looking for shells.

There is a dredging project going on at Lido Key Beach and we wanted to go check out the shells that the dredging project was churning up. We traveled North up to Sarasota to see what all the hoopla about this dredging project was. The project is on-going and should be churning up shells for a while, but we visited on a busy Saturday and didn't get as early a start as we would have liked since we had to travel almost 2 hours up to Lido Key Beach. We did find a lot of different shells, which was fun and it turns out the beaches about 2 hours North have the same shells as they do down in Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach.
We parked at a free parking area located at: 2198 Ben Franklin Drive.
