Fontanile è un comune di 588 abitanti della provincia di Asti. Dopo un devastante saccheggio da parte dei saraceni nel X° secolo, fu costruito un borgo fortificato che comprendeva un fossato e due ordini di mura difensive. Particolarmente famoso il suo campanile - Fontanile is a small town of 588 inhabitants of the province of Asti (Piemonte, Italy). After a devastating looting by the Saracens in the tenth century, it was built a fortified village which included a moat and two rows of defensive walls. Especially famous its bell tower.
