I'm back at US-5221 Oakley Corners state forest for another Parks On The Air activation. Today I'm using the Yaesu FTX-1 Optima. I worked 40m CW for a while, then switched to 40m LSB, and THEN switched to 2m FM......all on the same radio. The radio performed flawlessly. Oddly enough the radio ran cooler working a CW pileup than it does at idle in my shack on receive only on 2m. Weird..... I know. Doubly weird as the second receiver was on 2m the whole activation. This radio has its flaws, but overall I'm pretty impressed with it. As always, thanks for watching and 73!
