3 Days Filming Wildlife and Wild Camping! Join A Wildlife Photographer

I am on a 3 day off grid adventure in NORWAY to do WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY. My main goal in this episode is to photograph and film the MUSKOX, the King of the mountains. Join a WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER in the field and behind the scenes while I capture all footage with my Nikon Z6 and Z50.

🐺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
On the third day I wake up to a fog covered landscape, you can see far enough, but the mountain slopes are not in sight, which can make it hard to spot muskoxen in the distance. I carry on through the landscape and while I have to wait for some of the fog to clear I get quite cold. The good thing is I have learned from last year, I keep my head up and myself warm. As soon as I judge it safe, I continue up the mountain while the fog in the valleys starts to clear. Magnificent landscape is revealed below me and I cannot do else than to stop in awe.
After having a short lunch in fog and rain, I am lucky enough to find the group of muskoxen on top of the mountain like I anticipated it. I keep my distance and film the group. The light is harsh due to the fog and clouds completely lifting. It does not make for good material, but when the muskox bull lays down and accepts my presence is an experience for itself.
Up from a ledge I discover the rest of the harem in the valley and I have to make a decision. Do I try to approach the new group, risk getting any material, but get better light condition on a west slope, or do I stay here, get material for sure, but no light on an east slope. I take the risk of going down the mountain after the new group and better light.
My gamble pays off in the end, maybe not with the greatest condition, but one of the cutest behaviors I filmed this year.

Camping in Fall and high in the mountains with all the beautiful orange, yellow and red colors around is possibly one of the most beautiful things I look forward during the year. DOVREFJELL is a location you might already have seen with Morten Hilmer or Trond Westby. It is a place where you can find real inhabitants of THE WILD NORTH like the mighty MUSKOX or giant bull MOOSE. This year I am returning to Dovrefjell along all seasons to record a bit of everything for a greater collection of material. Especially in Summer, you get the opportunity to photograph a lot of birds that come as soon as the mountains wake up in spring.
The Muskoxen on the other hand has lived on Dovrefjell in ancient times and has only recently made its return by reintroduction from Greenland, twice. May time show if the precious ecosystem that has found its place here, survives the threats of the years to come.
