Macrame Plant Hanger - Easy Square Knot Pattern - DIY Learn Tutorial

This video is for people who already know how to make the basic knots of Macrame. If you need to learn those first, check out my tutorial videos on the basics. This video is at real speed, with the exception of a couple of repeated knots that are skipped over. You may pause to catch up for those moments. I announce when to do it, making a smoother process!

You only need:
5mm cord cut into 8 pcs at 12 feet (365cm) long
8 large hole wood beads
1 wood ring

1) Make a lark heads knot with all 8 cords.
2) Make 4 square knots around the top in a circle.
3) Alternate 4 more rows in a circle.
4) Skip several inches, using the alternating square knots method, make 3 vertical knots in a row. Follow with a bead, 3 knots, a bead, 3 knots. Do this 4 times to complete the circle.
5) Skip the same space as before and using the alternating method, make 3 vertical knots. Repeat around the circle.
6) Skip a smaller space and alternate 1 square knot. Repeat around.
7) You do this atleast 1 more time. The more rows you make the wider the pot it holds.
8) Once you have it the right size for your pot, using the 2 longest cords, you skip the same space you made in your rows and tie 3 square knots around the rest of the cords.
9) Trim to length and fray, fringe, or leave as is for finishing touches.
