Question:
Two identical charged particles each having a mass 10 g and charge 2.0 × 10⁻⁷ C are placed on a horizontal table with a separation of L between them so that they stay in limiting equilibrium. If the coefficient of friction between each particle and the table is 0.25, find the value of L. [Use g = 10 m/s²]
[IIT JEE Main 2nd Shift 24th June 2022]

This question is a perfect example of how conceptual understanding of electrostatics, friction, and equilibrium can be applied to solve real problems. It integrates core physics concepts that are part of the Class 12 CBSE Physics syllabus and is also found in ICSE and other State Board Physics syllabi. Understanding such problems is essential for students targeting a strong score in JEE Main, and this question is also relevant for NEET aspirants, especially in the Physics section.

In this Hindi explanation video, we guide you through the step-by-step conceptual approach required to solve this type of IIT JEE Previous Years' Question (PYQ). We break down the forces acting on the system, how the condition of limiting equilibrium applies, and how the coefficient of friction plays a crucial role in determining the separation between the charged particles.

We created this video keeping in mind the needs of IIT JEE Advanced aspirants, NEET Physics learners, and even school students from Class 12 who wish to strengthen their problem-solving skills. By watching this video, you will not only revise key concepts of Electrostatics and Mechanics, but also learn the exam-oriented strategy needed to tackle high-level PYQs confidently.

Our explanation is student-friendly, conceptual, and uses a simple language style that aligns with the understanding level of Class 12 CBSE and ICSE students. If you’re preparing for IIT JEE 2025, IIT JEE Advanced, or NEET 2025, this video is a must-watch. It gives you a clear idea about the pattern, difficulty level, and conceptual depth of actual JEE questions.

We aim to provide quality content based on IIT JEE Main PYQs, IIT JEE Advanced PYQs, and NEET Previous Year Questions, with complete solutions in Hindi. Our content is not only useful for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam preparation but also for students from ICSE and various Indian State Boards who wish to go beyond textbooks and master competitive exam strategies.
