Lyrics:
Is that how it went?
You changed so much over all these years
and though i can see you, you disappeared
You went from loving me to coming clean
from being here to being free
Is that how it went?
Well you’re not Gen Z bc of your nineties jeans
you dress like teens but you’re just like me
you went from 90s rock to hyperpop
from happy socks to old crop tops
You went from Walken’s bae to Chalamet’s
from vine compilations to tik tok plays
You went from Mad Men to Euphoria
from England to America
from a prude to libertarian
from big Mac to vegetarian
Ooh is that how it had to go?
it’s sad how it had to go
Ooh is that how it had to go?
it’s sad how it had to go
Is that how it went?

Soft Boy is an up-and-coming Belgian band that started off as Xander Hamelton’s bedroom pop project. He debuted with the homegrown “This Took a Long Time” (a nod to his arduous production process) followed by “This Took an even Longer Time” the next year. With the support of a vibrant group of friends, his music made its way to the stage.
After making an impression at the We Are Open festival in early 2023, Soft Boy spent the rest of the year touring across Flanders, honing their live performance.
In 2024 they're set to serve up their latest offering, "Always Hungry." Collaborating with sous-chef Niels Hendrix (Fence, Shovels) in the creative kitchen of Fons Records, Soft Boy has cooked up a delightful ten-course menu of power pop songs. Embracing playfulness and humor, Soft Boy combines inspiration from a variety of influences, including the timeless harmonies of the Beach Boys, the avant-garde notes of Velvet Underground, as well as contemporary bands such as Foxygen and of Montreal.
Soft Boy is Xander Hamelton, Stan Antheunis (Thans), Simon Dewaele (Logan Spaceman), Jasper Suys (Jerry Lada) and Marian Coppieters (Sitting Duck)
