Japanese Cars of the CMC Sydney Classic, Feature Car: 1966 RT56 Toyota Corona Hatchback

The videos from my trip to Australia last August continue, and in this one it's the first of a series (of three) from the 2022 CMC Shannon's Sydney Classic; and it's all about the Toyotas, Nissans, Datsuns, Isuzus, Hondas, etc. Classic Toyotas and Datsuns were a highlight, and more specifically the following:

The feature car: 1966 RT56 Toyota Corona Hatchback
This beautiful and rare 5-door Corona sedan/liftback is fresh out of its 2nd restoration. Grade is Deluxe, so is the cloth (brocade) interior. Engine: 1.5 litre 4 cylinder (2R). The car was bought by its current owner from a wrecking yard in 1985 for $100. It had made its way there after the previous owner, wanted to host a Christmas party, needed to clear some space, so donated the car the mentioned wrecking yard.

For context, it'd been 4 years since my last visit to Australia, so felt well and truly out of the loop. The experience can only be describes as joyous though. It was such a great day of great cars, and to meet so many welcoming people, it was exhilarating.
