Having had some indifferent experiences at Porthmadog with trying to video the special trains on the Cambrian Coast Line, I decided to try Penrhyndeudraeth. After setting up the camera, I had a wonderful view down the line to Talsarnau. Then the heavens opened just as the train came into view, and trying to accurately pan, zoom out and hold the umbrella all at once was a little too much. The camera's auto-focus also seemed to get a bit lost with the intensity of the rain.
So the distant shots had to be binned and this clip starts as the train passes the halt at Llandecwyn on the approach to Pont Briwet. There's still some impressive views and, heading away from Penrhyn the locos can be heard working hard to lift the train up the gradient to Minffordd.
