Guest of honor, Nadesico Character Designer Kia Asamiya is introduced at Anime Expo 10's 7/5/2001 Opening Ceremony in Long Beach, CA., Long Beach Convention Center.13,000 attendees showed up over the course of the whole weekend. Mr. Asamiya illustrated the manga version of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 1999 and later went on to illustrate The Uncanny X-Men for Marvel Comics. In Japan he did the Silent Mobius manga and Duplex Divine.
