Patan Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the city of Lalitpur, just south of Kathmandu. It showcases an impressive and well-preserved collection of Newar architecture, including a royal palace, temples, and residential houses. The square is known for its exquisite wood and stone carvings, bronze statues, and intricate metalwork. As a center of both Hinduism and Buddhism, the site features temples like the stone-built Krishna Mandir and the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar). Although heavily damaged by the 2015 earthquake, restoration and reconstruction efforts have been ongoing to preserve its rich cultural and historical legacy.
