How to Use a Pattern from an OTTOBRE Pattern Sheet

I'm stepping into something new and exciting today, friends! 😊 I'm actually sewing a pattern straight from the competition magazine! When I filmed my review, I kept wondering which design would truly put this magazine format to the test—and I've made my choice!

Even though we're enjoying summer sunshine right now, autumn will be here before we know it. I've decided on the adorable Charlie Brown Pea Coat!

Boys' patterns rarely get spotlight time in my shop, and if I could create just one more pattern tomorrow, it would absolutely be a 'Pea-Coat.' This design is simply delightful, so we're going to catch two birds with one stone—learn to craft a stunning coat with your Frocks & Frolics host (that's me!), while using this fantastic pattern from Ottobre's 'Celebration Magazine.'

One thing I treasure about Ottobre is that all their back issues remain available—perfect for late-night browsing sessions!

I've already traced the pattern, and honestly, I'm impressed! It's wonderfully designed and beautifully put together. While I'll likely add my own little tweaks (some extra tabs and slightly narrower shoulders—partly because I'm adapting mine for a girl), it's truly excellent as-is.

Who knows? This magazine pattern adventure might become a regular feature on our channel! What do you think?
