The purpose of this clip is to draw attention to resultant shapes and reliefs in customary Tlingit visual design language (Formline). The shapes demonstrated are a circle, crescent, and trigon. As a disclaimer those labels were are not Tlingit words, rather they were invented by Western researchers as a way to have conversations about what they see. I use them here for the same purpose. The same shapes are used in Coast Salish region designs, however in their region they are the primary shapes. That contrast is important for literacy in recognizing the differences between the two visual design languages.
