Live-coded a reusable playing card component library in React + TypeScript ♠️♥️♣️♦️
PS: This is a mix of two streams I made, part 1 and part 2.
In this video I built from scratch:
• Pixel-perfect scalable SVG suits (spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds)
• Real playing card corner layout – rank + suit in all four corners
• Automatic red/black color for hearts & diamonds
• Clean, reusable BaseCard component with full TypeScript support
• Every variant instantly previewable thanks to Storybook
• Lightning-fast setup with Vite
Jack, Queen & King face cards are almost done – they’re coming in the next stream soon!
