Welcome to video 2 where I simplify the concept of gradient factors on a Shearwater dive computer. Imagine gradient factors as a guide to your underwater adventure, telling you how fast or slow you should ascend to ensure your safety.
In simple terms, Gradient Factors are settings on your Shearwater dive computer that allow you to personalize your decompression algorithm. The lower gradient factor (GF Low) tells you when to start your decompression, while the higher gradient factor (GF High) guides you when to surface.
Think of it as a road trip - GF Low is the point where you start considering taking a break, and GF High is your final destination. By adjusting these settings, you can control your decompression stops and ascent rate to match your comfort and safety levels.
