This one’s about that song that comes on and you have to drop everything and run to the dance floor. For me, that song has always been Groove Is in the Heart by Deee-Lite - hence the title. I’ve asked DJs to play it more times than I can count (usually after a drink or two). It’s filled with little bits of my world: Pata Pata by Miriam Makeba as a nod to home, my mum’s “easy legs” signature dance move and my go-to drink when I’m getting tired but want to keep going, vodka diet coke (VDC). It’s warm, groovy, and a little chaotic in the best way.
