Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back to the channel!
Today I made a pilgrimage to my own hometown Joann store to see how the closeout is going.
With just 14 days left, my store was certainly showing the effects, but there was actually quite a lot of fabric - including lots and lots of fleece - still available.
This was one of the 300 higher performing stores that had been slated to remain open after the bankruptcy plan to shutter 500 of their 800 stores to reorganize. But that reprieve only lasted a few short weeks before news emerged that the entire company was being sold to a liquidation company and all assets sold off.
Going in was bittersweet, as this has been “my Joann store” for about 20 years.
So I left with just one item, but I’ll go back next week when the prices are slashed even more and work on getting some beautiful fabrics for quilts at a lower price. I’ll at least put some of them to use on the channel and keep the memory of “my Joann” for a few years longer.
