Thomas Petraschka is currently interim chair of German Literature and Media Science at the University of the Saarland in Saarbrücken, Germany. Before that he was assistant professor at the University of Regensburg. Thomas is interested in all areas of literary theory and aesthetics, and in literature of the 19th, 20th, and 21st century. He has written (and/or edited) books on how the Principle of Charity works in literary interpretation, on truth in fiction, on empathy's role in understanding persons, literature, and art and on the cultural history of empathy.
Serge Tchougounnikov has a post-graduate degree in linguistics (1995, University of Pyatigorsk, Russia), a PHD diploma in sciences of language (2002, EHESS, Paris) and a habilitation to direct research (2012, University of Paris-7) on the emergence of European psycholinguistics between Germany and Russia. He is a senior lecturer (MCF HDR) at the University of Bourgogne, Dijon; he is the author of two monographs and numerous articles on the history and epistemology of European linguistics and poetics (19th-20th centuries), in particular on formalism and structuralism. He has co-organised eight international conferences and numerous workshops on formalism and psychological models in the European humanities. His current research focuses on the interaction between psychology and the human sciences (linguistics, poetics, aesthetics).

The interdepartmental lab N&H of the University of Parma aims to promote and develop research in the field of relations between the humanities and cognitive neurosciences. This objective is pursued through the realization of scientific research projects, workshops, seminars, conferences and conventions, promotions of research networks and Fellowships, building of national and international relations with other universities and research centers active in this field, developing partnerships both with public and private entities and institutions.
