In the spring of 2024 Nashville booking agent Ray Shelide discovered a long lost seven inch reel of quarter inch audio recording tape in the bottom of a storage closet. On the label written in faded pencil were the words "Ormandy 1970". Ormandy was a rock band he had managed out of East Lansing Michigan at the time. The band had one regional "hit" on the DECCA label called "Good Day" that made it to the charts but the band broke up soon after. It was believed that no live recordings of the band existed until the starteling discovery. This film is a collection of what few photos could be found set over a few of the recoverable songs from live performances. The quality is poor in places and even breaks once on playback.
1970 was a period of unrest and social change, Vietnam was still raging and civil rights marches were in the news. It was a difficult time. Some of the songs capture the feeling of the time. This film was created as a gift of rememberance and love for the remaining original members of the band.
