GOODBYE AZUR AIR GERMANY | A farewell to Düsseldorf’s short-living home carrier | entire fleet

In summer 2017 Azur Air Germany started their operations at Düsseldorf Airport with ambitious plans - on September 26, 2018 they ceased all operations. We are sad to see this airline go after only slightly more than one year of operation. They started their own flights with one Boeing 767-300ER and had a maximum fleet of 3 Boeing 767, but since spring 2018 they only operated one Boeing 737-900ER. In the last weeks of operation, they did not use any own aircraft, all flights were operated by Onur Air. Azur Air Germany wasn’t a large airline and their fleet was not the best for the German market, but it was nice to see a new Düsseldorf based airline and we liked the livery as well - just look at those red engines! We wish all the best for the employees of Azur Air Germany, we hope that they will find a new place to work very soon!

Im Sommer 2017 hat Azur Air Deutschland den Betrieb vom Flughafen Düsseldorf aufgenommen - am 26. September 2018 war es dann auch schon wieder vorbei und man hat alle Flüge eingestellt. Für uns ist es sehr schade, dass Azur Air nach nur knapp einem Jahr den Betrieb wieder einstellt. Ursprünglich hatte die Airline eine Boeing 767-300ER, zwischenzeitlich bestand die Flotte aus drei Maschinen dieses Typs, zuletzt war aber nur noch eine Boeing 737-900ER in der Flotte. Ganz zum Schluss wurden die Flüge einige Wochen komplett von Onur Air durchgeführt. Zwar war Azur Air keine große Airline und die Flotte passte nicht unbedingt perfekt zum deutschen Markt, aber es war schön, eine neue Ergänzung am DUS zu sehen und die Lackierung mit den roten Triebwerken war auch hübsch. Wir wünschen den Mitarbeitern alles Gute und hoffen, dass sie möglichst bald einen neuen Arbeitsplatz finden.
