It's Time to Learn a Tonal Language - Why and How? | Actual Fluency NYNL Presentation 中越粵ไทยဗမာ Việt

There are several things happening around the world right now that make it the perfect time to learn a tonal language - especially ones from across Asia like Mandarin 普通話, Cantonese 廣東話, Hokkien 福建話, Thai ภาษาไทย, Lao ພາສາລາວ, Vietnamese Tiếng Việt or even Burmese ဗမာစာ. The best thing about learning one now is that given the resources we have out there, you can develop fluency in a language like Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai to very high levels, minimising your 'foreigness' in those languages.

In this presentation, I hope I will provide a compelling argument for the 'WHY', and then give you a taste of the how.
