I've been experimenting with this idea of removing a stringer and replacing it with carbon fiber reinforced deck and rails. The EPS blank serves as a lighter more buoyant core. The carbon layer in theory serves as a stronger stringer and deck lam which will allow it to be lighter and last longer.
And then the Midlength design only makes sense, but I need to try it first. The theory is longer, more buoyant boards make it easier to catch and surf waves.
