French musician Erik Satie is one of the most influential late 19th - 20th century composers. His music at times sounds strange, but every time one is listening to it, he desires to hear it more and more. Satie was a predecessor of contemporary Minimal music aesthetic: he wrote many experimental compositions, invented unusual forms, harmony structures, melodies and musical pieces names. Gnossiennes are an example of this approach. All Gnossiennes were originally made for the piano, but they sound very good on the harp.
Frans Hals is one of the most famous painters of the Dutch Golden Age Era (17th century). He lived almost all of his life in the Holland city of Haarlem, where he had been painting the usual life of the simple people. He developed incredible and absolutely new painting technics. Only at the end of the 19th century his fame started spreading all around the world. Many modern painters took inspiration from his art.
Something in Hals's art is very close to the approach of many artists of Satie's era. The Music of Satie sounds authentic and natural together with Frans Hals paintings.
