2019年8月20号，习近平总书记来到嘉峪关，查看长城并听取长城保护情况介绍。一提起中国，就是长城。长城，长江，都可以说是中华民族的象征。这是我们的宝贝，所以我们一定要很好的保护它们。
绵延万里，屹立千年。长城，穿过历史的长河，承载着中华民族的精神根脉，历久弥新、岿然屹立。从抢救性保护，到预防性保护，再到研究性保护，对长城本体的保护工作正在加速升级。万里长城屹立不倒，离不开数以万计的长城保护员。他们中的大多数翻过人迹罕至的崇山峻岭，走过偏僻小路，几十年如一日默默守护在长城身边。近年来，各地注重加强科技应用，大大提高了长城保护利用效能，长城以新的形态存续，“让长城自己讲述更多的故事”。随着保护的不断深入和对长城故事的不断挖掘，更多长城与人、自然与人文互动的新场景得以构建，保护成果人人共享的愿景照进现实。在长城保护传承利用方面，我国实施了一系列积极有效措施，为巨型线性文化遗产和系列遗产保护贡献了卓有成效的“中国经验”和“中国智慧”。从嘉峪关到山海关，从荒漠到大海，从古至今，长城以线带面，串联起中华文明，成为千百年来中华民族精神生生不息的象征。历久弥新，凝聚新的时代意义。

The Great Wall cannot stand without the tens of thousands of Great Wall protectors. Most of them climbed over inaccessible mountains and walked along remote roads, silently guarding the Great Wall for decades. In recent years, various regions have focused on strengthening the application of science and technology, which has greatly improved the effectiveness of the protection and utilization of the Great Wall. The Great Wall continues to exist in a new form, "letting the Great Wall itself tell more stories." With the continuous deepening of protection and the continuous exploration of the story of the Great Wall, more new scenes of the interaction between the Great Wall and people, nature and humanity have been constructed, and the vision of protection results shared by everyone has become a reality. In terms of the protection, inheritance and utilization of the Great Wall, our country has implemented a series of positive and effective measures, contributing effective "Chinese experience" and "Chinese wisdom" to the protection of giant linear cultural heritage and
series of heritage. From Jiayuguan to Shanhaiguan, from the desert to the sea, from ancient times to the present, the Great Wall has connected Chinese civilization with lines and surfaces, and has become a symbol of the endless spiritual vitality of the Chinese nation for thousands of years.
