【訃報】ライオンのオトが天国へ旅立ちました｜のんほいパーク　Oto the Lion has departed for Heaven｜Nohoi Park

【ライオン「オト」の訃報】

のんほいパークで暮らしていたライオンのオトが、2025年3月10日、25歳6ヶ月で天国へと旅立ちました。

オトは1999年8月26日、旭山動物園で父ライラ、母レイラのもとに生まれ、2001年7月16日にのんほいパークへやってきました。

国内最高齢のライオンとなった後も、穏やかに、そして力強く生き続けてくれましたが、2月末頃から眠る時間が長くなり、食事の量も減り始めました。
スタッフの皆さんが工夫を凝らして環境を整え、最後まで温かく見守られる中、静かに息を引き取りました。

オトは、たくさんの人に笑顔と癒し、そして大きな勇気を与えてくれました。
心から「ありがとう」の気持ちを伝えたいと思います。

Oto, a lion who lived in Nonhoi Park, passed away on March 10, 2025 at the age of 25 years and 6 months.

Oto was born on August 26, 1999 at Asahiyama Zoo to father Laila and mother Leila, and came to Nonhoi Park on July 16, 2001.

After becoming the oldest lion in Japan, he continued to live peacefully and strongly, but around the end of February, he began sleeping longer and eating less.
The staff had made every effort to create a good environment for him, and he passed away peacefully under their warm care until the end.

Oto brought smiles, healing, and courage to many people.
We would like to express our heartfelt “Thank you.


From Tuesday, March 11 to Thursday, March 20, a flower offering stand will be set up in the Lion's Den.
