These shoes were purchased over 20 years ago and I have never really worn them. I've always hated the terracotta red latex sole, and now it was dry and slippery. They needed new soles, so I decided to do something different with them. I opted for blue sneaker soles on a flexible leather midsole, with a soft EVA heel base for a "sneaker" feeling. I added some blue details. Replaced the stitching by the heel lining with blue thread, and stitched the soles with a blue thread, and added a blue "line" between the mid sole and the heel base.
By only stitching the soles through the midsole, it's easy and cheap to resole them in the future. Finally I laced them with blue waxed laces to further increase the contrast on the upper. They will be cool with a pair of jeans.
