IPE Deck Tiles by MRP allow you to enjoy the beauty of hardwood without a complicated building process. The pre-assembled tiles are great for rooftop decks and for covering an unsightly surface. Each 2' x 2' tile consists of eight smooth IPE planks secured to three support battens with stainless steel screws. The ends of each plank have been coated with wax to prevent checking or splitting. To preserve the rich tones of this tropical hardwood, we recommend treating the tile with a protective oil such as Penofin Hardwood Oil. If you prefer the wood develops a natural silver/grey patina over time, leave the tiles unfinished.
