Mark of The Deep is a NEW Pirate Metroidvania Souls-Like?! In this Mark of the Deep First Impressions video, we check out the demo of the new title by Mad Mimic releasing January 2025.

Mark of the Deep is an epic Pirate-themed Metroidvania with Souls-Like elements, leading to a wonderful mix of intimidating combat and an engaging exploration loop. In Mark of the Deep, you find yourself unlocking abilities to help progress through the game, such as grappling hooks and ranged weapons - many of which aid you in unlocking areas previously blocked off like you'd expect in metroidvania games. You find yourself fighting skeletons, jellyfish, flower-like enemies and crabs, where the game ramps in difficulty as you progress in true souls-like fashion. I had an absolute blast trying out Mark of The Deep and encourage you to wishlist the game on Steam if you're looking for new indie Metroidvanias in 2025, or even new indie Souls Likes in 2025.
