The Get Right Band - Pulled Up Root *OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO*

When I wrote ‘Pulled Up Root’ I was feeling really beat down about the direction our country was heading in. Music is usually the best place for me to deal with my emotions, and I knew the song that was coming out of these feelings had to be a basher. If we could rock hard enough, if JC could smash the drums loud enough, if Jesse and I could get distorted enough and jump around the stage enough, if band and audience could all yell together in unison… maybe we could force that anger and heartbreak for the country into something cathartic for ourselves and for our fans. That's the energy we wanted to capture in the music video. And because we're generally hopeful people, generally trying to make the best of situations, we wanted to add some levity and humor--that's where the most epic air guitar, air bass, and air drums of all time come in. And the same kind of idea applies to all the wild colors and effects... we wanted to take what started as a very negative feeling and transform it into catharsis, laughter, creativity, and art.
