Mission ICU, a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening India's critical care infrastructure, in collaboration with Compassionate Patient Response, Inc. (CPR), successfully organized a one-day national conference, "Mission Critical: Envisioning a Pandemic-Resilient India by 2047," on October 9th at the Holiday Inn, Aerocity, New Delhi. Leading representatives from government, healthcare, CSR, and research participated in the conference and deliberated on developing a collective roadmap for India's long-term pandemic preparedness and health system strengthening.
The Chief Guest of the event was the Honorable Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Government of India. In his address, he emphasized that health security and pandemic preparedness are national priorities, requiring the cooperation of both the government and private sectors. The event began with a welcome address by Krishna Kottapally, co-founder of CPR, followed by an address by Dr. Ashwin Naik, co-founder of Mission ICU.
In addition, the event included keynote addresses by Dr. K. Madan Gopal, Senior Advisor, NHSRC, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO, AMTZ. They shared their views on public health governance, innovation, and technology-driven healthcare transformation. The event focused on how multi-sectoral partnerships can transform a vision into collective action to ensure equitable access to critical care services across the country.
Panel discussions held throughout the day covered a wide range of topics, with funders, clinicians, medtech leaders, startups, and public sector representatives sharing their perspectives. These discussions focused on strategically developing sustainable health infrastructure, promoting accessible and scalable innovations, strengthening disease surveillance networks, and bridging the urban-rural healthcare gap.
Speaking on the vision of the conference, Dr. Ashwin Naik said, "Mission Critical is not just a platform; it is a collective effort to ensure India's healthcare system is fully prepared for the future. Our focus is on developing sustainable and accessible critical care solutions that can reach every district in the country."
