What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time.
I hiked the Salmon Run Trail at Heron Lake State Park in northern New Mexico. This path stretches 5 miles one way, making it a 10-mile round trip adventure. While much of the hike winds through forested areas without sweeping vistas, the journey is peaceful and rewarding, leading to a beautiful view of the dam area at the end.
David has been chosen and anointed as king. Unlike the outward appearance that people often judge, God looks on the heart. Samuel was sent to Jesse’s house, and while David’s older brothers seemed more fitting by human standards, it was the young shepherd boy whom God had chosen. This chapter reminds us that God’s calling isn’t based on what the world values, but on a heart devoted to Him.
