This was probably my most anticipated match of 2021, the IPSC PCC Nationals of Austria. I knew that I was technically capable of winning the match, however the real challenge for me was to deal with the mental part of it. I had some very serious competition, even in my squad, what has caused me troubles on maches before. Withnessing other competitors perform at a very high level right before or after me has sometimes caused me to push harder, than I should have, causing stupid mistakes that cost a lot of match points. Also the possibility of actually placing first on nationals can cause quite a bit of mental stress too.
So my plan was to focus on the mental part, trying to stay as focused as possible and try to not care about the performances of other shooters too much. Also beeing able to quickly regain focus and a positive attitude after a bad stage was somthing I knew I had to do, to not let past mistakes influence my performance on the following stages.
In the end, we all made more mistakes than we were comfortable with, but I felt like I did a good job on staying focused, relaxed and keeping a positive attitude. In the end, the mental preperation payed off and I carried home the overall win! We even managed to carry home the team win with the help of Martin Theilinger, Mario Kneringer and Andreas Leizinger.
IPSC Austria and the "Sportschuetzen Voecklabruck" put together a well run match despite the difficulties we currently face.

And also special thanks to my buddy Martin Theilinger, wo basically got me into PCC years ago and actually won the previous PCC Nationals, for lending me his gun on my first PCC matches and beeing very supportive the whole time, even though we are rivals once the buzzer goes off...
