About Athena Asamiya 🤩

Athena is a modern day high school girl in Japan. She started her experience of Psycho Soldier as one day, while returning home from school, Athena saw a couple of Chinese fellows about to defend themselves from a local tough guy, whom she immediately knocked out with her powers before he threw a single punch. After introducing herself to the travelers, she discovered that the teenage boy, Sie Kensou, likewise had psychic powers while the aged man, Chin Gentsai, was a venerable master of many Chinese martial arts. Recognizing a good thing, they joined forces to become the Psycho Soldiers. Since then, Kensou has persisted in trying to make Athena his girlfriend, though she thinks of him as a good friend and nothing more (as of yet). By KOF '95, Athena met Kyo, and became mildly attracted to him after their match. However, she respects the fact that he already has a girlfriend and dropped the crush.

About Sie Kensou 🥟

Sie Kansou is a Chinese schoolboy who can wield Psychic Powers. That's why he was chosen to be part of the Psycho Soldier Team. He and his teammate Athena Asamiya (who he has a crush on) are trained by their mentor Chin Gentsai to prepare for "the worst case scenario of oncoming evil".

Chin uses the KOF tournaments since the 1994 tournament as a method of training for such an event. By pitting his students against other fighters, he hopes to increase their skill and power better than any training could ever achieve.

The food that Kensou sometimes eats before or during matches is baozi.

About Chin Gentsai 🍶

Chin Gentsai is one of the original members of the Psycho Soldier Team, which first appeared in The King of Fighters '94. His character's age and fighting style were considered to be essential for the series when developers were selecting fighters for the roster.

Chin teaches his students Athena Asamiya and Sie Kensou in the mountains of China. He tries to prepare them for "the worst case scenario of oncoming evil" and uses the tournaments as a way of training his disciples. As well as his students, he also possesses the ability to wield the mighty Psycho Powers.
