Welcome to my hometown of Añasco. Established around 1733, the town has more than enough history. Añasco is where the Taino tribes figured that the Spaniards were not gods by drowning one Diego Salcedo. This started the Taino rebellion against the Spanish conquistadors. As such, the town's motto is "el lugar donde los dioses mueren" the place where the gods die. Anasco is famous for "hojaldre", a tasty cake that goes well with a nice cup of coffee. The town is also famous for its public square, one of the largest in the entire island, and Soldier's Plaza, a small round square dedicated to US Military service members from Añasco.
