I came to the Rhodope Mountains in Bulgaria for a work exchange project, but life had other plans. Instead, I ended up house- and pet-sitting two dogs and a cat for almost a month in the small mountain village of Polkovnik Serafimovo.

Living in an old stone house surrounded by breathtaking views, I slowed down, embraced solitude, and found joy in the little things—morning walks with the dogs, nourishing meals, and true rest.
