Tropical Cyclone Luana has maintained its category 1 strength as it barrels through Western Australia’s northern region.
The storm crossed the Kimberley Coast as a category 2 system and is weakening as it sweeps through the south of Derby.
Flood warnings have been issued for many parts of the region as the system is forecast to carry heavy rain and storm surges.
