Open die forging is among the most challenging methods of metal forming that DANGO & DIENENTHAL – as a manufacturer of specialized machines – has dedicated itself to over many decades.
Therefore, our forging and handling technology ensures short handling times of the workpieces as well as precise, close-contoured manufacturing while complying with the specified parameters at all times. For our customers, this means high yield due to increased productivity of the forging line.
Our solutions for open die forging include:
RAIL-BOUND FORGING MANIPULATORS
The rail-bound forging manipulators of the SSM series were specially developed in order to forge challenging workpieces.
They have tongs with high longterm movement accuracy, which guarantees that forgings are always precisely positioned in the press. As a result, the optimum deformation is achieved, stroke for stroke.
MOBILE FORGING MANIPULATORS
The mobile forging manipulators of the MSM series are the most flexible solution for handling forgings under a press or hammer, loading and unloading furnaces, and transporting forgings between the furnace and forging units.
They are compact, fast, and maneuverable. That means short handling times between the furnace and forging press, fewer intermediate heating stages, short auxiliary process times, and shorter overall throughput times as a result.
MOBILE TRANSPORT MANIPULATORS
The mobile transport manipulators of the MTM series are designed for the transfer of ingots, slabs, blanks, and rings – for example for loading and unloading furnaces and the rapid transport of forgings between furnaces and forming units.
They are faster than cranes and more efficient than forklifts. They are characterized by a high carrying capacity combined with an extraordinarily high gripping range. The tongs can even reach forgings in the far end of chamber furnaces.
TURNTABLES
Turntables shorten handling times during open die forging and make the forging process more independent of the availability of overhead cranes. The result: the forging plan is followed reliably.
