The Yanagawa doll parade marks the start of the Yanagawa doll festival. This year held from February 11th to April 3rd.
Young girls dressed in traditional garments from the Heian era are escorted along the scenic streets of Yanagawa to the delight of onlookers.
The festival celebrates "Girls day" wishing them a happy and healthy life.
A highlight of the festival are the intricately handcrafted hanging ornaments known as "sagemon" and the beautiful doll displays. These intricate decorations are can be enjoyed at many locations across the town during the festival.
柳川人形まつりの始まりを告げる柳川人形行列。今年は2月11日から4月3日まで開催されました。
平安時代の伝統衣装を着た少女たちが風光明媚な柳川の街並みをエスコートし、見物人を楽しませます。
この祭りは、幸せで豊かな人生を願う「女の子の日」を祝います。
祭りのハイライトは、精巧に作られた「さげもん」と呼ばれるつるし飾りと美しい人形展示です。祭り期間中は街中のさまざまな場所でこうした精緻な装飾が楽しめます。
