In this video, I experiment with the new Clairefontaine Pastelgrain paper, a new textured surface made exclusively for pastels! Watch as I try out various soft pastels, including Unison, Rembrandt, Derwent Pitt Pastel Pencils and Pan Pastels, to see how they perform on this unique paper and how it compares to its sister paper, Pastelmat. I’ll be testing out different blending techniques, layering methods, and color applications to showcase the full potential of Clairefontaine Pastelgrain's suede-like texture.
If you’re a pastel artist or just starting out, this video will give you insights into how this pastel card handles different types of pastels, and you’ll discover the best techniques to bring your artwork to life. Whether you’re into landscapes, portraits, or abstract art, experimenting with new materials like this can help elevate your pastel work!
