We recently had several Green Card approvals for clients based on approved EB-2 NIW petitions, and we want to share some insights into the timeline of this multi-year journey. In 2024, the entire process—from filing the I-140 to receiving Green Card approval—took around 1.5 years for some clients.

Key Points:

I-140 Filing: The first step involved filing the I-140 petition in early 2023. With premium processing, some cases were approved within a month.
Priority Date Waiting: Due to backlogs, many clients had to wait about a year for their priority dates to become current before filing the I-485 adjustment of status application.
I-485 Filing: Some clients were able to file their I-485 in early 2024.
Green Card Approval: By July 2024, some cases were approved within 5-6 months, without an interview—much sooner than expected.
