For some people, living in Bangkok can get a little bit boring, a bit lonely. A lot of people turn to drink and drugs to get by and that doesn't always go very well. Personally, I don't frequent the bars as it simply isn't conducive to raising a family here.
As an expat in Bangkok, you need some hobbies or things you enjoy doing. For me, I love records - buying them, listening to them, sampling them... I love everything about records. In such regard, today I visit Fortune Town in central Bangkok, where there are about 10 record shops. I am heading for two in particular today, because I wish to go 'crate digging'; I will buy some records, find a sample or two, sample the record and then build around the sample in FL Studio to make a tune/'beat'.
There is a really healthy records scene/vinyl culture in Bangkok now, as more and more people turn to wax for there listening pleasure. There are shops dotted all over the city. I also show you Bangkok's oldest record shop (the current owner has been there since 1971!!!
