Blackmer Compressor Repair Kit Review & Compressor Assembly of Subcomponents - Blackmer Whiteboard

During this video we will be reviewing the individual items that are included in the Blackmer Reciprocating Gas Compressor Repair Kit. Prior to starting the assembly of the reciprocating gas compressor, it is best to perform the assembly of the subcomponents. This video takes you step by step through the procedure to complete the assembly of these subcomponents (Piston Nut, Packing Box Ring, Crosshead Assembly and Connecting Rod Assembly, Packing Box Assembly, and Piston Assembly).

You will need the following tools to complete this work:

Needle Nose Pliers
Soft/Hard Tip Rubber Mallet
Two Pin Punch (for removing nylon locking inserts in Packing Box Retainer Ring and Piston Retainer Nut)
Paper Towels
Mechanic Gloves
Large bolt (for driving wrist pin)
White Lithium Grease
Light Oil (crankcase oil ISO Grade 68 synthetic oil)
Small Flex Hone for bore size 0.875”
Cordless Drill for Honing
Internal Snap Ring Pliers
Metal Files
Utility Knife
Caliper (measuring bushing ID)
Arbor Press (two washers used to space wrist pin plug
